WordPress, WPG2, Wordbook, Facebook

It’s not perfect, but my locally-hosted wordpress installation, featuring a locally-hosted WPG2 photo gallery, is now connected with a hacked version of wordbook through to my facebook account.

There should be a sweet line of photos from Andre and Callen’s wedding linked above.

(edit: I’ve stopped using WPG2, and I’m leaving the numbers in above on purpose.  WordPress’ Media Library is a lot better now.)

New York family vacation

My family has suddenly discovered that vacations are fun. It all started with a two week vacation in Italy for John’s 60th in April 2008. I met Bekks and John in Brussels on business in September, then Ben + Allison and Joe flew out to California for Christmas and New Years. Who knew traveling was so cool?

1/4 done! My third quarter at UC Davis’ Bay Area Working Professional MBA program

January 2009 brought the third quarter of UC Davis’ WP-MBA program. This is the last quarter of non-elective ‘core’ classes our group will take together, after which we will theoretically go our own way and choose classes based on our own unique interests. We all took Marketing Management and Corporate Finance.

Short notes: Christian V came back to join the cool kids in the slacker class schedule (harder course taken later in the evening). He reports that the Others do indeed suck. We went to Vegas (my first time) in May. Coursework was really overwhelming, it was tough to keep up. I lost my 4.0 GPA with an A- in Corporate Finance. I’m a little bummed.

Next quarter I’m taking Statistics 2 with Rahman Azari and Product Management with Britta Foster, followed by almost four weeks off in September! It’ll be nice to get a break.

Audience question: UC Davis Working Professional MBA program

I remember two years ago when I started looking for information about part-time MBA programs in the SF bay area I was totally overwhelmed. There are a lot of schools in the area and I had no idea which ones were good. I didn’t even understand the difference between a UC school and a private school!

Supermoto training at Prarie City SVRA

Yeehaw! Dragging knee roadracing style

I have no idea how to ride a supermoto. I hang off the inside, stick my knee out, and keep the bike standing up. It feels right but I guess it doesn’t work in the dirt. Plus knee-dragging is so last year.

1/6th done! My second term at UC Davis’ Bay Area Working Professional MBA program

The winter 2009 quarter brought our working group closer together (read: cliquing is on in full force) and further separated us from “The Others” enrolled in the same courses but on the alternate schedule. The Others are just like the mysterious group that live on the island in the TV show Lost. Very suspect. We try not to make eye contact when we meet at lunch or dinner.
