Sara and I joined my parents (Ann and John), my mother’s sister and SO (Jane and Gibbers), and my father’s sister (Joyce) for a week-long pre-celebration party in southern Italy. We stayed in a beautiful trulli near a small town named Ceglie Messapica. It was incredible.

Doublehanded Lightship Race

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Dylan and I sailed his custom Dogpatch 26 “Moonshine” in the doublehanded lightship race, a short offshore race outside the SF Bay’s Golden Gates.

The winds were light and we were becalmed for a short time off Pt. Bonita. Of course on the way back we had some fun as it was blowing hard right inside the gates!

We brought a daisy and dropped it at the buoy; a week earlier the Cheoy Lee 31 “Daisy” was lost with Matt Gale and Anthony Harrow aboard coming back from a similar race.

ASA bareboat certification, a week sailing in Mexico, and Sara and I are engaged!

Sara and I had been sailing around the SF Bay on our 27′ Ericson, but we really wanted to learn how to sail out in the ocean. We looked around and found the Sailing San Carlos website. We signed up a few weeks later for a five-day trip in the first week of 2006.

Jeep TJ stuck in the mud while fetching a remote-controlled plane

My friend Mike crashes his RC plane in a wet field. We don’t want to go get it because we’re flying the plane at lunchtime and we don’t want our shoes to be muddy. Who wants to track mud into work? That’s unprofessional.

Yes, that's my Jeep stuck in the mud
